I'm Afraid There's Someone Else

Okay, I have a confession to make. There is another blog! She's one of those New Blogger blogs. She's sleek, sexy, and she treats me well. That explains why I'm never around anymore. I'm sorry.

Currently, I'm in the process of slowly transferring posts from this blog to the new one, so there isn't anything there yet that you haven't seen. The blog would have a slightly different tone to this one, particularly since it's linked to my academic blog network (yes, there is even a nerdier side to me than what you see here!) However, there are certain "special" needs that only my darling Mescaline could meet. (This is where I can truly be myself, in all of my curmudgeonly, sexually-preoccupied yet coitally-challenged glory!) Consequently, I plan to keep her running as well. However, things will continue to be slow-going here until I fully get the other blog off the ground.

In the mean time, I invite you to check out my Expat Interview, which Lizza so graciously invited me to take part in...I'm not sure she realised just what she was getting herself into, poor girl. Enjoy!

well the whole "scottish" thing is fine but you didn't mention us once. you could of worked us in the interveiw.

& what's this about the Scottish Enlightenment? I didn't know there was one...who was the leader of that?

I'm so ashamed of myself L>T. I should definitely be punished for such an oversight. I suggest you provide your daughter with a paddle and send her over immediately!

As for the whole Scottish Enlightenment thing, I'm actually quit sceptical. As we speak, hundreds of Scots are feeding their children sheep intestines in commemoration of that old skinny bloke from the Simpsons...as I'm made to understand. Enlightened you say?

But if there were anything like a Scottish Enlightenment it would be personified in David Hume. Hume is perhaps best known for his proof against miracles and his claim that philosophical reflection is most effectively conducted with a fork in one hand and a pint in the other. Now that's enlightenment!

My daughter is 8 mths. pregnant at the moment. Pregnant women are very beautiful but not in the way you're thinking of, I'm sure.

David Hume...I wouldn't even try to talk philosophy with you(Yeah, I've seen that blog of yours) but I like David Hume. Right now I'm studying the American Transcendentalists, Emerson, Thoreau & company. Are you familiar with them? One thing I like about them is that women were included & involved.
